There are those at TEA and downtown AISD that need to be hogtied and horsewhipped for what they are doing to teachers, (especially spec ed teachers) right now with the STAR test and new ARD requirements. There simply isn't enough time in the day, $, nor substitute teachers required to fill in the blanks they want filled. Melissa (the wife) is physically sick and extremely exhausted because of this mess. She said that her Masters Comps were a walk in the proverbial park compared to the amount of work they want from her now. If it weren't for the economy and perhaps in spite of it, teachers and even students, would and may be dropping like flies from the ranks of our schools in the near future. All because the politicians, text book and test creators can sit snug in their positions of power. I DECRY BULLSHIT!!! I think I'll forward this to the Chronicle and the Statesman Op Ed departments.
Just Another Cog In Education's Institutionalized Factory Setting Bullshit Machine
For those fed up with NCLB, TEA, Standardized Testing and everything else that goes along with the politicization of education.
